Requirements

Network

EAS works across a variety of network topologies, including L2, L3, and PtP links. Each trigger box and command unit requires network access via ethernet. For most sites, this can be accomplished through a flat L2 network that covers festival command and stages. For larger deployments, EAS also supports L3 networks. For these deployments, the Command Unit requires a static or reserved IP address and trigger boxes need be able to reach the controller.

EAS works offline, though internet connectivity is recommended for remote support. Internet access is required to provision L3 deployments.

Audio Override

For an automatic override, the audio system needs to accept triggers via contact closure. When activated, the audio system should automatically mute program audio and play EAS audio. Front of House and System Engineers should be able to adjust EAS audio parameters as needed. The audio override can happen at a variety of places along the audio chain. The contact closure can trigger audio desks, console switchers, and system processors.
